Parks, Open Space and TRAILS

The City of Craig owns and/or maintains various parks, open spaces and trails within city limits.  Locations and amenities for these parks, open spaces and trails are listed below.  For rental information on any of these parks please contact 970-826-2029.

Craig And Moffat County Trail Maps

Alice Pleasant Park is located in Historic Downtown Craig, between Victory Way and 6th Street on Yampa Ave. The site has bike racks, picnic tables and benches. Many of our downtown events occur at this location. 

Breeze Park is located at 7th Street and Breeze Street. The park is currently undergoing renovations, see the Breeze Park Schematic for more details on the amenities that will be available Summer of 2020.  

City Park is located between Victory Way and 7th Street, facing Washington Street. There is also a portion of the park East of Fortification Creek, along Lincoln Street. The portion of the park North of the Swimming Complex is home to picnic tables, sand volleyball, a playground area and seasonal restrooms. The portion of the park South of the Swimming Complex has basketball hoops, a playground and many wood carvings. The tennis/pickle ball courts are on the East side of Fortification Creek, facing Lincoln Street. 

DOG PARK (Formerly East Park Open Space)
The Dog Park is located adjacent to East Park and the Cemetery, with parking along Jeffcoat Drive. It has fenced large and small dog areas, with a shared 'airlock' entrance. Look for more improvements coming Summer of 2020. 

East Park is located at the corner of Ashley Road and Baker Drive. Amenities include basketball hoops and a playground. 

Heier Memorial Park is located along 10th Street, between Legion Street and Lecuyer Drive. It also has basketball hoops and a playground.

North Park is located at Highway 13 and 12th Street. The park has field space with a backstop, a playground and shade structures. 

Pan-O-Rama Park is an open space area located at the top of the sand rocks near Moffat County High School. 

Ridgeview Trail is 1.7 miles long and runs from Sunset Elementary to the Ridgeview subdivision.


Sherwood Forest is located along Fortification Creek, and accessed from 7th Street. It is a natural surface/dirt trail bicycle park.

Woodbury Park entrance is located on W. 2nd Street and Mack Lane, with additional parking available along W. 3rd Street. The location has sand volleyball, 3 baseball diamonds, multi-use fields, a playground and seasonal restrooms.

By utilizing community partnerships, Parks and Recreation is able to offer programming at a variety of locations including: City owned parks and facilities,  Boys and Girls Club, Loudy Simpson Park, and many of the Moffat County School District Gymnasiums.
